Blast it again

I've received some comments on my blast and thought I'd explain its origin.
Years ago when teaching in a small town several miles south of here, I wrote a silly poem. People in my art world know I write songs but somehow they never put 2 and 2 together and know I write poetry -sometimes silly poetry. Anyway we had a custom in that high school that the teachers would draw names and bring that person a gift each day the week before Christmas break. One day I got almost to school and realized I'd forgotten my secret Santa gift. So I made a hand made card with the poem on it.
Moving too quickly with too much to take, Saint Nick left your present behind by mistake
But please don't feel cheated, act crazy or whine and maybe tomorrow two gifts you will find.
I was afraid it would be a dead giveaway, but the recipient had no clue.

Merry Christmas wish

Wanting to recognize my infant king
Wanting a gift, like the wise men, to bring
Bowing before Him like shepherds near by
Singing a song like the angels on high.
Gifts in bright wrapping are not His desire
Christmas cantatas performed by a choir
These bring us joy but His gift points us higher
Giving my self to His praise- I aspire
to know and love what His life to me gives
taking to my life the truth that He lives
Showing my brother through purer motive
His birth still matters as much as it did.
It is our wish that you will have
a Happy and meaningful Christmas
and that the new year will be
Filled with God’s life and blessing.
The picture is of my mantle. I've been making Christmas. Peace and blessings, Donna
