promises
Another cool rainy morning. I had the last three doors for my shower room cut out before the girlie woke. I finished putting one frame together and then we had a good breakfast -she had blueberry mini-wheats and I had a waffle with strawberries, blackberries and whipped cream. I had a cup of that awesome coffee and came to check on my people here before finishing the two other door frames. It's been a good day so far and only promises to get better as we go. I hope you are blessed and safe this day.

Our rains have passed ... think we sent the last of 'em off in your direction. Waiting now for the field to dry a little bit before getting out to mow at least the front part. Made up a full recipe of blueberry/vanilla waffles Sunday, and froze the ones we didn't eat ... had some toasted this morning, and while not as good as off the griddle, they weren't bad, I have to admit. A little clotted sweet cream and blueberry syrup tops them off.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, it is a blessed day, with maybe a few tzores ...
I always make more waffles than I will eat -usually a double recipe - and I freeze them and toast them. No sense getting that out to cook one waffle or even 3 and one is all I eat these days, piled high with fruit and a bit of whipped cream. I don't use butter on my waffles any more and don't really miss it since I changed my ways. I do use butter and eat it some but not on the waffles because I like the whipped cream on the fruit. I also don't use any prepared syrups on them or pancakes either. If I have syrup at all it is made from fruit juice and I'd rather have the fresh fruit. There was a time I would not have thought that could be good, but I really like to move and walk and I don't want to spend my life drugged. So I've decided it's good. And one piece of pie is good and two homemade cookies. It's a new way of thinking and when I deviate, I suffer. I'm learning to like it.
