The doghouse in the sunroom

The doghouse in my sunroom is not a good design feature, but seeing as how it has rained all morning, it's a good decision.  My plan is to get him to where he will come out of it on his own and go back in.  Then I will move it to the back yard.  I took him out once this morning -in the rain.  He wasn't impressed.  I mopped his doghouse out and he laid on the floor and watched.  I fed him two hands full of feed and then he ate about a cup full from the dish - probably a cup and a half or so.  When he started trying to go back into my plants, I showed him the doghouse door and he went inside and lay down.  He pulls away from my hand unless I have a treat or something in it.  I'll try to work with him on and off today and see how far we get.  I think he'll be a good dog when he gets over it!

  1. Annie-Annie, our black something-or-the-other stray that followed the wimmen home is much like that. She thrives on verbal praises, but is not too keen on being petted. Puppies are pretty resiliant, though. You two will get on well.

  2. Amanda took him outside for a bit while I was finishing up my lesson. At the end, I went out and noticed that he was kind of shedding. So I got the hair removal glove and wiped him down with it. He was pleased with that.... When we went back in I put it on the bench in the sunroom. He went back in his doghouse and I went in to make a late lunch. While we were eating I saw him come out. I thought okay he want to see what we're doing. He went over, grabbed the glove and headed back into the doghouse. He's claimed that. Sorry Hobbes. We may have to name him Bilbo.
